(NECN) – BP PLC’S massive oil spill in the Gulf coast drew the most searches from the tens of millions of people that used Yahoo.
Yahoo.com is out with it’s list of top searches of 2010. Topping the list is the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history. The BP oil spill was the most searched topic of 2010.
People tuned in to watch the live feed of the oil leak and get more details on the impact of the spill.
After that, the list gets a lot less serious.
The world cup is number two, followed by actress and singer Miley Cyrus, then Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber. The iPhone and American Idol are also on the list.
Britney Spears, who held the number one spot from 2005-2008, is down to tenth after she was fifth last year.
Last years number one was Michael Jackson, who didn’t crack the top ten this year.
The worlds largest search engine, Google, will release its list later this month. Google has more searches than all other search engines combined.
